An Ode to The Night Out

She reaches over across the bar and whispers that she isn’t “going far”

That’s when I know she’ll be mine, not just for tonight, but for all time.

This I exaggerate of course, we are two lonely wonderers sharing a common course.

Two vacant ships in the night, anchored together by a passionate crew, willing to become true, for one drunken night.

When the morning comes, the vessels depart, gone to seek lines on another chart.

Although the ship will be lost from sight, not one of them will forget that star- crossed night.

What makes us human, I believe is becoming to be stamped out. Words are so important, both spoken and on the page. Words make up the most powerful elements of our humanity. So, I'm feeling supersonic, why me why not? SF
