The Harmless Bathroom Spider

The harmless bathroom spider
Lives in a crack in the wall

The harmless bathroom spider
Sees nothing at all

The harmless bathroom spider
Speaks but does not make a sound.

Doesn’t move an inch, or cover any ground.
Against the wall he can be found
Spindly legs, so delicate they break:
A hammer to glass
A soul to shake.
Insnaring invisible bathroom flies
What does he like to eat?

Looks quite cute sometimes
Yet you always keep one eye open -
Just in case he flies

Then one day when you’re in the shower
Soapy suds and rushing heat
Your time is nearly up
Heart skipping a beat
The bathroom spider sees it
And jumps right on your back

Now you sit upon the wall
as everything fades to black

‘Soapy suds and rushing heat your time is nearly up’

What makes us human, I believe is becoming to be stamped out. Words are so important, both spoken and on the page. Words make up the most powerful elements of our humanity. So, I'm feeling supersonic, why me why not? SF
