Once

It happened the once
And never again
Old panelled walls
Thick with cement
Rotting flowers in once clear vases
I caressed the peeling paint off those walls
Too much time and yet not enough
Memories that cut deep
But can’t seem to fit once you’re in them
I came from that time
I embrace that life
And look forward onto the grass we planted, now overgrown
Live within me forever
Echo through my bones

Memories that cut deep
But can’t seem to fit once you’re in them

What makes us human, I believe is becoming to be stamped out. Words are so important, both spoken and on the page. Words make up the most powerful elements of our humanity. So, I'm feeling supersonic, why me why not? SF
